Murmurations, is a series that reflects on the immense swarming of birds that have always captured humans imaginations. The collective consciousness or this combined intellect was the primary driving force of this body of work. Why do birds murmurate? To warm at night before roosting? To protect the young and old within the flock from raptor predators, or is it to dance, to communicate and play? A residency at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary was essential to creating these paintings. The paintings were displayed at the Painted Bride Center (Philadelphia), Gross McCleaf Gallery, Boxheart Gallery (Pittsburgh), URBN (Philadelphia) and the Philadelphia International Airport.
